The first sentence I wrote is "Sigh! Another arrow again."
First i divide those who come to church for the first time into a few category.
1. Just come to church, without anyone coming with them.
2. Youth with friends
3. BB/GB
I think let us think through it. What do you mean by follow up? "Follow UP"? I felt that when Jesus says come follow me, does He just ask and no action, as we know that He provides the followers with food, with wisdom and daily bread. So how about those followers? What is their perspective, when Jesus ask them to follow Him? Did they just follow Christ for a while? Or did they do it till the end until Christ is in them, broken for them?
So we should be like Jesus, guiding them spiritually and constant engaging them, and also be just like a follower of Christ, constant seeking Christ for wisdom , constant walk with Him, so that they will be guided by the spirit when they go out reaching to the others.
1. Youth with Friends.
To have a clearer perspective, it is to go accordingly with the "I plus 1" objective. So rightfully speaking, these people have friends in the church.
a. To build a community with them in it.
This is to let them has a sense of belonging, a community in church. So when the youth brings a new-comer, he is to introduce him to the small-group himself, and follow-up and gathering feedbacks. It is also the role of the small group to follow up and let the youth feels the belonging to the community.
b. Door gift
The door gift, means that the gift for the first comer when they enter and gets to know the kingdom of Christ a little. So as a servant of Christ, we must let the guest knows who is the master here. So giving of evangelical pack is one to them, but to use it to share and to introduce our master is another. The pack is just a gift, imagines that if you are a guest of a master house, do you want someone to introduce you the master personally to you, or would you rather just a leaflet with information about the master. I think everyone would like the first choice, because you felt honor, at the same time you felt welcome. As I mention, we are the servants of Christ, so welcome our master's guest.
c. 6 months has passed. . .
Wow, this guest is still in the house, and he loves the house very much, and he or she wants to be in this house and let them sink into at least a year. After a year, then will encourage them to go for the baptism class or Alpha class.
d. Tri follow up
There are 3 groups of people can help to do the follow up.
1. The youth which does the follow up.
2. SGL or ASGL to help to follow up the new comers.
3. Follow up committee.
The purpose is to check the "health" of each SGL, the youth and the newcomer.
<
The problem about this organization is very MOE bounded, and no Christian activities is to be conducted, despite of the ministry is tough, that post a challenge when the youth approaches the organization, because they need to understand the sensitiveness of this ministry. Therefore I encourage that there should be a separate team to be trained to take care the transformation of the organization.
.:Steps:.
1. Form a team to strategize how to bring the youth to church.
2. Pray for every boys and girls, and divide them into SG level, same gender.
3. Activities to invite them to have fun together with the YMPACT.
4. Organizing Bible study.
**All these activities need to keep the chair person in the loop.
