Hahaha, 2nd day of my birthday, and there is this message i read from the daily bread. This is really poke into my heart. Father in heaven really tell me a lot from this passage.
As most of us knows me well that i have a really pack schedule to run, in terms of work, ministry, study, friends , family, life and not forgetting drawing near to God - That should be the first one. So time is always not enough for me, i am a "coffeeholic", i love drinking coffee, because it gives me the caffine in my body to generate that kind of awakness and strength in my mind, so that i can use more hours in the day, and just need 4 hours of sleep, sometimes less. For 2008, it was a great change, my objective is to be constant, it means everything i do, so i cut down coffee,in the end need not to rely on it, and also able to wake up early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise. Due to my diverted attention to a lot of things, sometimes i felt that i cannot fulfill the expectation i have set for myself, and in the end leads to disappointment.
I have been praying to God, and trying to seek for an answer, no just an answer , i guess is many many answers about my life ,and situation. Sometimes i even dare not even asked anymore, because i am telling myself, am i treating God like a wise tree or a genie. So i will just quiet myself, just like a kid, waiting for answer, but recently i have been proactively asking again, because my heart is in pain, my mind is confused, and i felt like my heart has went for a tour. But some part of my life i can see what is He going to provide me , so i am going to take the courage and move forward. I know that i will have to wait for other parts of my life, and to see what is his purpose for me. Lord i pray that you can make me less painful, just like Psalmist has said - Make haste to help me, O Lord!” the psalmist David prayed (Ps. 70:1). i am weary of waiting already. Lord i am weary, really weary.
I love the poem , and it goes like that
"Be still, My child, and know that I am God!
Wait thou patiently—I know the path you trod.
So falter not, nor fear, nor think to run and hide,
For I, thy hope and strength, am waiting by thy side. —Hein
God stretches our patience to enlarge our soul.
"
The passage can be taken out from the rbc daily bread 7th nov 2008.
Make haste to help me, O Lord!” the psalmist David prayed (Ps. 70:1). Like him, we don’t like to wait. We dislike the long lines at super-market checkout counters, and the traffic jams downtown and around shopping malls. We hate to wait at the bank or at a restaurant.
And then there are the harder waits: a childless couple waiting for a child; a single person waiting for marriage; an addict waiting for deliverance; a spouse waiting for a kind and gentle word; a worried patient waiting for a diagnosis from a doctor.
What we wait for, however, is far less important than what God is doing while we wait. In such times He works in us to develop those hard-to-achieve spiritual virtues of meekness, kindness, and patience with others. But more important, we learn to lean on God alone and to “rejoice and be glad” in Him (v.4).
F. B. Meyer said, “What a chapter might be written of God’s delays! It is the mystery of the art of educating human spirits to the finest temper of which they are capable. What searchings of heart, what analyzings of motives, what testings of the Word of God, what upliftings of soul. . . . All these are associated with those weary days of waiting, which are, nevertheless, big with spiritual destiny.” — David H. Roper
